The recipient of the 2026 Alberto Anaut Award, Enrique Loewe Lynch has played a pivotal role in shaping the cultural and entrepreneurial legacy of one of Spain’s most celebrated luxury houses. After joining LOEWE in 1965, he held a succession of leadership positions, helping guide the company through a period of profound transformation that established its reputation on the international stage.
Beyond the world of fashion and business, Loewe Lynch has long been committed to cultural patronage. In 1988, he founded the LOEWE Foundation, creating a platform dedicated to supporting artistic excellence and nurturing emerging talent across poetry, music, design, and the performing arts. Through this work, he has become one of Spain’s most influential cultural benefactors, particularly noted for his enduring contribution to the promotion of poetry.

The award bears the name of Alberto Anaut (1955–2023), the journalist, editor, and cultural entrepreneur whose vision helped shape contemporary Spanish cultural life. As founder of La Fábrica, Anaut launched and developed landmark initiatives including PHotoESPAÑA, Festival Eñe, Madrid Design Festival, Pública, Archivo de Creadores, and Matador magazine, projects that have left a lasting imprint on Spain’s cultural landscape.
Established by La Fábrica with the support of the Círculo de Bellas Artes and Manifiesto—a collective of creators and cultural managers originally brought together by Anaut—the Alberto Anaut Award honours individuals whose work has made an exceptional contribution to the advancement of the arts. Whether as patrons, promoters, curators, communicators, or cultural leaders, recipients embody the values that defined Anaut’s own career: creativity, courage, generosity, collaboration, commitment, and the ambition to create projects of enduring cultural significance.

The Alberto Anaut Award is decided by an independent jury made up of leading figures from across the cultural sector, bringing together a broad range of professional backgrounds and perspectives. Reflecting the award’s commitment to diversity and dialogue, the composition of the jury evolves each year and includes the recipient of the previous edition.
The nine-member panel for the 2026 award is chaired by Alberto Fesser, President of La Fábrica and Fundación Contemporánea, and includes Judit Carrera, Director of the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB); filmmaker and screenwriter Ángeles González-Sinde; philosopher and Fundación Juan March Director Javier Gomá; Miguel Zugaza, Director of the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum; art dealer and gallerist Carmen Palacios; contemporary art gallerist Elvira González, recipient of the 2025 Alberto Anaut Award; Fátima Sánchez, Executive Director of Centro Botín; and Óscar Becerra, Director of La Fábrica.
Nominations are submitted by jury members, the Manifiesto collective, the previous year’s recipient, and a select group of invited cultural institutions and personalities. Candidates may be of any nationality, provided they have made a significant contribution to Spanish cultural life. While the award maintains a strong international outlook, it places particular emphasis on the Spanish cultural sphere.
All nominations and jury deliberations remain confidential, ensuring an independent selection process focused solely on merit and long-term cultural impact.
