Well obviously this is already set out to be amazing just by the very fact that we are at The Shard, Western Europe’s tallest building. Standing 244m (800ft) high, The View from The Shard has become a top visitor attraction since it’s launch in 2012 and it’s also here where the Silent Disco trend reaches new heights. Get your headphones on and join us at level 69 and beyond at The Shard.

It’s no wonder The Shard has become a popular engagement point for couples (the first marriage proposal actually took place ten minutes after the attraction was opened!). The city skyline is specially spectacular at night, with attractions like the Tower Bridge, Parliament and London Eye all lit up underneath.

Our journey begins travelling to Level 33, which offers a graffiti word map of London where we follow the River Thames through every part of the city. Next and last stop, Level 69, where the indoor viewing gallery has transformed into a DJs paradise with 360 degree views over London at 244 metres above the ground.

The tickets to the Silent Discos sold out almost immediately when they were launched back in December. And what is Silent Disco all about anyway? The idea is simple, put your headphones on and flick between three channels of music – each from a live professional DJ. That way you can assure you’ll be filling the night with your favourite tunes.

You can be dancing with your friends and be listening to totally different kinds of music. Or, lets be honest, we all get a kick out of hearing (and seeing) our friends giving everything they’ve got in the dance floor without music!
The silent atmosphere is transformed into a high energy sensorial experience. Look left and you’ve got the Olympic Stadium, the Tower of London and the Thames Barrier. Look right and you’ve got St Paul’s Cathedral, The London Eye, Big Ben and Buckingham Palace.
If level 69 is not enough for you, you can can also head over to the open-air viewing gallery at level 72, the highest accesible point to the public in the building.
The next discos take place on Saturdays on the following dates: September 6, September 27, October 4th and November 15th.
