There is a mysterious appeal in Delpozo that makes its pieces stand out. Maybe it’s the brand’s unique approach to volume, color and silhouette. Or perhaps its the freshness of Creative Director Josep Font, whose designs reflect his architectural beginnings and couture savoir faire. For his first resort collection, he has found inspiration in one of the silent cinema’s great narrators, George Méliès.

This season’s starburst print pays homage to Méliès’ masterpiece Le voyage dans la Lune. The French cinematographic took inspiration from the sun and the moon, creating fantastical solar and lunar landscapes. Font has taken this concept and applied it to volume and texture. Other references include British abstract sculptor Anthony Caro, which inspires the organic silhouettes of Delpozo’s DNA: delicate petal arches, trapezoid shapes, draped knots and bows mix with Font’s powerful use of colour. So pure, yet piquant.
