New Materiality grounds, Darren Harvey-Regan
Photo 50 is in love with possibilities of storytelling within the photographic medium. This contemporary photography exhibition, featured at the highly anticipated London Art Fair, will take place next week and showcase new and interesting features of current photographic practice. What will Tom Lovelace, Darren Harvey-Regan, Hassan Hajjaj and many more have in store for us?
Photo 50 is certainly one of the highlights of the UK’s premier Modern British and contemporary art Fair, which takes place next week from from 21-25 January at the Business Design Centre (London).
Titled Against Nature and curated by Sheyi Bankale, this year’s exhibition aims to pose more questions than answers. I takes its name from the novel ‘Against Nature’ by Joris-Karl Huysmans and will explore the possibilities of our relationship with the stories the photographic medium tells, where the boundary between the tangible object and the aesthetic plain sometimes disappears.
Photo 50 will feature fifty works from the following artists: Jonny Briggs, Thorsten Brinkmann, Julio Galeote, Adad Hannah, Hassan Hajjaj, Darren Harvey-Regan, Nikolai Ishchuk, Andrew Lacon and Tom Lovelace. Here are a few of our favourite works from these talented image creators:
Super Natural, 2012, Jonny Briggs
Old Woman Looking Out Window, 2011, Adad Hannah
Love Maroc, 2010/1431, Hassan Hajjaj
In Preparation No.11, Diptych, Tom Lovelace
London Art Fair and Photo 50 will take place from 21-25 January at the Business Design Centre (52 Upper Street London N1 0QH).
