What started in 1961 as a fair dedicated to the best in Italian furniture and accessories has become a massive design epicentre, one of the most vibrant and lively happenings in the world. Intertwining design, culture, art, innovation and marketing, the 54th edition of Salone del Mobile Milano runs this week until the 19th of April and is open to the general public Saturday 18 and Sunday 19. Salone del Mobile Milano is a wonderful way of getting inspired, whether you’re in the design field or just looking for ideas for your own home. Kengo Kuma Salone del Mobile Milano 2015

He is behind the famous armchair Proust and is one of the best known italian designers. We are talking about Allessandro Mendini. He is at the Fuori Salone with the Milanese gallery Fragile presenting a limited edition of contemporary suspended lamps called DERIVA, made from iron and copper and with a paper-folding shape.
