Frank Lloyd Wright said: “If you invest in beauty, it will remain with you all of the days of your life”. This international art fair “with a British accent”, as it has been referred to, seems like the perfect place to begin the voyage.
Taking place from 25 June to 1 July at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, Masterpiece London is a great opportunity for cross-collecters and art enthusiasts to to find some the best pieces available across every discipline. From never before seen work by Andy Warhol (‘The Socialite’, of the attorney Olga Berde Mahl) to a pair of iconic earrings which belonged to the last Empress of France, Eugine de Montijo.
Among the highlights is the strong line-up of design specialist galleries, with works by Mattia Bonetti (David Gill Gallery) and pieces from Zaha Hadid or Linley, who will present ‘LIGHTSCAPE’, a collection of three pieces that celebrate the changing light in the city and how it transforms architecture.
That’s inside the fair. Outside, it will exhibit monumental sculptures ‘Adam’ and ‘Eve’, by Richard Hudson (Leila Heller Gallery), and ‘Messenger’, by William Tucker RA (Pangolin).
