The art fair of Mexico, which starts today, will celebrate its 11th edition in 2014. An art fair that has become the most important contemporary art window into Latin America and has become a MUST destination to experience what is happening in the international art world today.

The fair will offer visitors five different sections as well as conferences, events, awards, VIP Area and a full program of parallel activities:

Main Section – hosts the most experienced international galleries approved in advance by the Selection Committee.

New Proposals – a selection of international galleries with individual projects by artists under the age of 35. This year, special priority is being given to artists living and working in Latin America.

ZONA MACO SUR – in this selection the works for Zona MACO Sur seek to support the idea of art as one in which we are able to reflect on the people and the world.

Modern Art – section that focuses on international modern art. This edition will concentrate in the first half of the twentieth century for the purpose of reflecting on the context which generated the fundamentals of contemporary art practice.

Design – section in which the work of studios and galleries in Mexico and the United States is presented with the aim of creating partnerships between industries, designers, international galleries and artists to produce limited editions of objects that support the design market in Mexico and the world.

A figure of 40,000 visitors is expected during the week; including collectors, artists, curators and general public. The city is prepared to offer a wide range of opportunities to celebrate art.
