From 28 to 31 August 2025, Copenhagen will once again become a gathering point for contemporary art as Enter Art Fair returns to Lokomotivværkstedet, the former train workshop that has become its industrial-chic home. Now in its seventh edition, the fair has established itself as Scandinavia’s most important international art fair, attracting galleries, collectors, curators, and institutions from across the world.

Expanding Reach, Balanced Scale

The 2025 fair brings together close to 100 galleries representing over 350 artists from nearly 20 countries. With a strong mix of Scandinavian exhibitors and international heavyweights, the event highlights both the Nordic scene and the global dialogue it’s part of. Organizers expect more than 20,000 visitors, reflecting the fair’s growing pull on the international calendar.

The Venue: Raw Space Meets Contemporary Art

The Lokomotivværkstedet remains a defining element of the fair’s character. Its towering ceilings, daylight-filled halls, and industrial bones give space for both intimate booth presentations and ambitious large-scale works. Outdoors, a sculpture garden extends the experience, inviting galleries to present works that blur the line between art fair and public exhibition.

Sections and Highlights

Enter Art Fair 2025 is structured to give room to both established players and new voices:

  • Main Galleries: Blue-chip and mid-tier galleries present curated selections of painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed media.

  • Young Section: Dedicated to emerging galleries, giving a platform to fresh curatorial approaches and experimental practices.

  • Outdoor Projects: Large-scale installations and sculpture proposals animate the garden area, adding a distinctive spatial dimension to the fair.

  • Digital & Hybrid Art: Continuing the push to integrate digital practices, the fair showcases works that bridge the physical and virtual.

Why Enter Matters

While global fairs like Art Basel or Frieze dominate headlines, Enter has carved out a unique space in Scandinavia. Its scale is large enough to attract serious international attention, yet intimate enough to foster direct encounters between artists, gallerists, and collectors.

Equally important, Enter positions Copenhagen as a gateway to the Nordic region. For international galleries, it provides access to an audience of Scandinavian collectors and institutions. For local artists and galleries, it offers visibility on an international stage without leaving home.

2025 Outlook

This year’s edition is expected to underscore two themes: the strength of Nordic creativity and the rising role of Copenhagen as a cultural hub. With its distinctive venue, curated approach, and balance of established and emerging talent, Enter Art Fair 2025 is poised to reinforce its reputation as one of Europe’s most dynamic boutique art fairs.
